SECRETARY'S REPORT.

During the past month the following unions have paid their affiliation fees: —Auckland General Laborers, 800 members; Nelson Waterside Workers, 50 members; Auckland Waterei'le Workers, 750 members; Timaru Waterside Workers/ 120 members; Lyttelton Waterside Workers, 345 members; Wellington Waterside Workers, 1000 members.

J)iiiH'(lin and Patea Fnions have, by large majorities, decided to affiliate with the X.Z.F.L.

The Christchurch General Laborers, by '247 t<) 59, have also decided to affiliate.

An agreement between the Auckland Electric Tramways Company and their employees has been mutually agreed upon. The representatives of the Federation were Messrs W. E. Parry (vicepresident) and P. Fraser (President Auckland General Laborers' Union);' to whom much credit is due for the very able manner in which they represented the workers. It. is estimated that the increases in wages gained will amount to £10,000 per year.

The executive mot in "Wellington the week before Christmas, and transacted a quantity of business, especially in connection with "The Maoriland Worker." Mr. It. Hogg has resigned the position of manager, Mr. Ross being.put in as editor and manager temporarily.

It was also decided that the secretary of the Federation should take up the position of secretary to the paper, in addition to his duties as secretary of the Federation. Union secretaries will please note that until further notice hia address will bo: J. Glover, Box 179, G.P.0., Wellington. ' '."■
