President Taft, sneaking on tho wool duty, said:—"The result of the rawwool investigation shows that it costs more to grow wool in America- than in any other country. Experts having studied the conditions of wool-growing in Australasia, South Africa, Great Britain and other European countries, and 173 counties and 19 States of America, state that the highest cost of production of merino wool in the world is in the State of Ohio, and the lowest CO st for the same is in Australasia."
