As illustrating the striking change of opinion in the medical world regarding ©veai the medicinal.value of. alcohol, the following statement made at the annual meeting (September, 1909) of the Victorian Branch of the British Medical Temperance Association, by the. President, Dr. Moore* In&kes interesting reading : — "The Melbourne Hospital' in -1874, with 3594 in-patients, expended on alcohol £1382. In 1880, with 37-86 in-patients, £1023 went in alcohol.
