WAGES IN AUSTRALIA.
The Victorian Government Statistician's Year Book shows that 91 ■special, wages boards were in existence in- Victoria at the end of June, of which 71 made determinations affecting over; 75,----000 operatives. Tile following were the ii. creases in the average weekly wages over tlio last period of five years:— Bakers, 1905, £2 Is 3d, 1910, £2 6s 5d- bootmakers. £1 6s 4d and £1 12s 7d; engravers, £2 Is 9d and £2 6s Sd j potters, £1 12s 7d and £1 15s lid; brewing employees, £2 Is 4d and £2 bh 4d.
