Some Black Hand agent slipped to a housetop in Chrystie-street, Ncav York. and hurled a bomb into the doonvay of Frank Rosenberg's butcher's shop, which is on-the ground floor of a sixstorey tenement. Four times since August 1 a bomb lias exploded in front of this butcher's shop, and each time the excitement among the tenement Yhvollers has been such that reserA-o police had difficulty in controlling them. Rosenberg got a letter from the Black Hand three years ago, demanding 1.00 dollars. The letter was turned over to the police, and the police say the Black Handers now are seeking vengeance.' A policeman and two detectives were near the butcher's shop when the explosion occurred. They are positive tho bomb was hurled from a roof across tin. way. The block in Avhich Rosenberg lias his shop has given tlie police much trouble in the p«;st year. Men have been murdered, bombs exploded undo* doorways, and houses sot ow fire.
