There Landlords take their velvet ways And dare ail men to touch a coin, And I 'where the furnace fires do blaze ; ''The sweated slaves in labor join; There liveried footmen ope the door Of stately homes where roses grow; s . The v 'never see the very poor That live iv Merry England 0! There bind the fetters of the Church More firmly than we folk may tell; The Bishop, 'with his oily smirch, Doth daily preach of Heaven and " ; 'Hell, And ignorant yokels touch the! hat To every, parson bowing low—/ (We're bad enough, but don't do that; We're riot ia Merry England O!)
