W. E. Parry, Avorkers' represcntatiA T e on the Mines Commission, is a native of Orange, N.S.W. His first experience as a miner was gained at N.S.W., whence he came to Noav Zealand something over five years ago. Three years ago- he Avas elected a member "of the Executive Council, Waihi Miners' Union. Upon the re-s-io-nation of the then president, Mr. AT Williams, Parry contested the pre-
sidency and was elected. He has been re-elected twice since, with an increased majority on each occasion.
Since being placed at the head of the Waihi Union by his fellow-work-ers, Parry has ably and conscientiously proven his fitness for the post.
