LYTTELTON WATERSIDE WORKERS.
A BOMBSHELL
Messrs Semple and Glover addressed a meeting in the Union room on Tuesday morning, September 20. Bob was in good form, and practically spoke for 3_ hours. Glover followed, dealing with the financial position of ' 'The Maoriland Worker." Questions were answered to the point, and a motion Avas carried to join ,the N.Z. Federation of Labor. ' The Lytteiton men a.re, gradually aAvakening to the fact that they have been tricked by cute Trades Council officialdom out of the right to a referendum on the whole qeestions at issue. The promise made by Semple to have a ballot taken at the Federation's expense of all transport Avorkers between the North Cape and the Bluff fell like a bombshell on the officials, and Avas received with cheers by those present. Verily, Aye are going to see the dry bones buried at Iast.—JAMIESON.
