ALFD. RICE (Gisborne). — Glad to hear from you; good luck, for auld
laug syne. R.W. (Invercargill.)—Your letter, following on others objecting to " Tho Worker" as "red-ragged" and "Socialist tract/ was a treat fof humpful eyes. Will be glad to get occasional _ copies of the paper you mention. "Nelson Radical" writes: "It is asserted hero that the early numbers of "The Worker" were edited by a lady. As we have "seen all numbers of papers during transition from "Commonweal" and did not understand this, should be glad of facts." Ans —"The Worker" was started last year as a monthly by the Shearers' Association, and was edited by a lady, Miss E. A. Rout. After five, numbers had appeared the .paper became the property of the N.Z. Federation of' Labor. Two further monthly numbers, edited by Robert Hogg, were issued, and then, in May last, the paper-became a weekly.
