Socialism is now making great progress in Strain. New party papers have been started in -Valencia and Vallaclolid and a daily is about to be established in IVladrid, where a. Socialist has. been elected to- the City Council. The Socialists a.re also organising the .workers into trade unions. They organised the miners and railway workers," numbering nearly 60,000, andckmbuled the membership of the Federation of Trades, which has 80,000 members. With the increased power of.the workevs, tkere is a corresponding decrease-in power Of the monarchy and clergy. > *
