DISTRESS AMONG HUNTLY
WORKERS
A meeting of the. Waikato Miners' Union, was held on August 16, President J. Fulton in the. chair. A committee of eight was apppiiiited to consider if a more efficient scheme of organisation, in the N.Z.F.L. could be brought forward. . Notice' of motion was given : "That a distress fund be opened in Huntly.V In reference to the "National. Taylor Memorial Fund/ it was decided that this request b© put aside, as the need for assistance was so manifest around our own door.
The co-operative store mentioned in former notes has almost materialised. A public* meeting was held on the 17th inst., J. Fulton presiding. The necessary rules have been duly framed and share list open-ed. Ay, there's, distress _in Huntly. Say, workers, when we rise together and demand tbo ; full product of our labor who shall dare deny our rights? Let us unite,unite, unite! These exploiters •must be abolished, and with them will go as a natural sequence poverty, crime, misery, and all that blights humanity. Workers, unite!— BlLLY BANJO."
