A RARA AVIS.

Sir, —I see by the papers that New Zealand is about to import a rara avis, or rare bird, called a baronet. Now, sir, I consider that a young democratic country like this has no use for that kind of poultry, and I think it tyould be a good plan to treat it as~ that poor Christchurch woman was treated the other day—viz., returned as an undesirable; either that or have it well fumigated and quarantined, the same* as all other imported animals. We do not know what strange disease germs it may have absorbed, considering the crowd it has been mixing with.. i Westport. NEW ZEALANDER.
