H. J. Hawkins, of Sydney, wh» signs himself Gen. Secretary I.W.W. Clubs of Australia, N.S.W. Executive," writes l |at considerable length regarding "a group of anarchists terming themselves the Ohristchurch Recruiting Union of the 1.W.W." , Mr. Hawkins delves into ancient his*tory for the purpose of showing that all those who call themselves I.W.W. men are "frauds/ "bogus," "fakir*/* '•slum-proletarians/ "Anarchistic," excepting, of course, those who bask in. the sunshine of, his own particular organisation. "Solidarity," the Eastern U.S. organ of the I.W.W. is a ; privately owned concern, and the "Industrial Worker" of Spokane, Washington, condones theft, and advocates "slugging" of opponents. He warns all workers against having anything-.to do with clubs other than the 'bona fide" ones with which he is connected. Writing of the 8-hour agitation carried on by the above papers, Mr. H. J. Hawkins says: "The 'direct actionists'. eight hour agitation is a 'fake' to rope- in the less-informed workers; a heartless, playing upon the misery of masses of proletarians, and a positive hind ran 6a to'the work of the 'bona fide' I.W.W. who are steadily organising the revolutionary Union, by the slow, but! certain, method of" plain and uncompromising statement of fact and education in class principle." (Can't see where "the heartless playing upon the misery of the masses'' oomes in if thejir work day is reduo&d from 10, 12 and 14 hours to 8 hours).
