The president said that the time was not opportune to strike, and advised them to accept the advice of the Federation in the matter. A ballot AA'as taken and .-resulted as follows : —ln favour of signing the agreement, 485,• against, 387 ; informal, 7. Majority in favour, 98. Our Waihi comrades should never forget this piece of sharp practice on the part of the mining companies. It should sen r e as a stimulus to greater activity in the future. Organise and organise, and then when the next agreement comes up for signature there will be no funny business on tho part of the employers.
