THE SHEFFIELD CHOIR.
Sir, —Allow mc to compliment the people for turning out so numerously to hear the Sheffield Choir. It was more than I expected. The hall filled to the door with men and women in their search for the good and beautiful was a cheering sight to see. and "my liver curled with pleasure." Really, we ought to be optimistic. Sir, I have confidence in the Human Race. There is in mankind enough golden material to build the City Beautiful. I saw it in the faces of those around mc as the choir sang. The choir is doing its share in drawing out the manhood of the
world. In tlhe vast audience there were voices enough, perhaps, to make more than one choir equal in Power and Glory to the one to which we were listening. Ah lif they would only waken up and see of what they were capable!—the dear, dull duffers.—A.
