Yankee Self-Slaughter.
During the year 1910 thero were, in tho United States, 12,608 cases of selfdestruction, the number having first doubled in four years. The greatest proportion of suicides each .year is among Americans of JEngnsh descent, the second among German-Americans, and the third among Irish-Americans. The largest pro-portion of suicides has been among tiioso married, single people coming next, then widowers, and finally widows.
