The Materialistit Conception.
Q.—What is Economic Determinism ? Arthur Masson. A.—This revolution of men against the traditional equality of women was the causo of all subsequent human revolutions,, and the motive for it, as far all others, was tho desire to be the exclusive owners of the resources of life which had been produced and used .by all members of a certain group. From that time on all human revolutions were but a repetition of the same cycle, which may be expressed in these words: First, there is an industrial revolution, due to the perfection of tools, which changes the method* of production. This creates changes in tiie economic and social relations of men and women. These changed economic social relations produce a revolution of ideas. When this intellectual revolution has reached its maturity, a social revolution roliows, ending m the downfall of a previously ruling group, or economic class, and the rise of another.—From Untermana's "World's Revolutions."
