Berger at U.S.A. Capitol.

SAYS A DOZEN WILL BE WITH HIM NEXT TIME. WASHINGTON, April 2.—With jaws set and shoulders squared. Congressman Berger has entered the national political arena, determined to voice in Congress the legislative demands of the militant working class Political Washington has already taken notice of the first Socialist Congressman, and before many weeks pass the American workers will realis-e that he is their one and only chapion in the National Capitol. In a message to Socialists Berger

says : '''The entrance of a Socialist into Congress marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the movement in our -country. While I am very proud of having the good fortune to be the first Congressional representative of our party, at the same time I realise that I am facing a bigger problem than was ever faced by any representative of the Socialist movement. ''•"In other countries there are still remnants of feudalism which have prevented the capitalist class from becoin ing all-powerful. Here capitalism is virtually omnipotent. "There is thus little doubt that no Socialist representative ever had a harder task before him. But our cause is just, and our arguments are backed up by the industrial evolution of our time. For this reason our ultimata triumph is assured. '''In the next Congress I expect at least a dozen representatives to cooperate with mc."
