Political Action.

By THE CLARION SCOUT.

It is undeniable that the qiiestkm of tactics relative to working-class emancipation, is one that must be definitely settled within the next year or so. The veil that has hitherto obscured the vision of the international proletariat is being rapidly Tent asunder, and soon the sleepy eyes of Labour will behold for the first time the crafty faces of their capitalist exploiters. Therefore it becomes, increasingly necessary that a scientific line of action shall be mapped out for rebellious wage slaves to follow.

The id-ea held by some that "political action is superfluous." is ■erroneous in the extreme, for it is by its hold of Parliament and its consequent control of military power that the capitalist class is able to keep us in our place. Should the workers attempt to seize the industries without first having captured Parliament to hold the military in check, the industrialist revolt would be stamped out in a sea of blood a la Paris Commune 1871.

The Class Struggle of the future wiii be purely a political one: a struggle on the part of the capitalist class to IIIiTAIN possession of Military Power and a struggle on the part of the work-ing-class to OBTAIN possession of +his Military Power. Which ever class is in control of the armed forces of the nation, that class is supreme. Once the international proletariat have captured their respective Parliaments and are consequently, in control of the Military Power, they will be masters of the economic situation and can talk to th-3 capitalist class from behind loaded rides and bayonets—if necessary.

The scientific line of action for Maoriland workers to follow is for them to return to Parliament class-conscious Marxian Socialists who will wrest from the hands of the capitalist class that Military Power which they have held so long.

Parliament to-day is composed of men. representing various property interests only; who would call out the military upon striking workers whenever oc-casion demanded, and surely it is most absurd for a property less worker to vote for ,»me property" interest in which he has no earthly concern whatsoever.

Working men liave NO landed or commercial interests, therefore they should support only those who are opposed to private property in the means

of production, and who would turn fclm same into the oommon property of allIndustrial Unionism acts, well as a means of defence against further depredation of the master class, but as a means of offence it falls short of efficiency. We must attack the capitalists per medium of Revolutionary Political Action.
