EVERY PARTY IN- THE HOUSE. Keir . Hardier.aid the last few days had emphasised the need of a .strong independent Labour Party iji politics. There was no excuse or justification for Navy and Army Estimates of £75,000,000. It was not merely a wanton waste, but a direct incitement to Germany. How, then, was it possible; to think of tho House of Commons passing these Estimates? Because, every section of the House was bribed. The Radicals were told that if they did not accept the estimates the Veto of tho. Lords would not l>3 destroyed. The Irish Party were bribed with Home Rule,, the Welsh Party with Disestablishment, the Labour Party wore told that unless they voted for the Estimates th-ey would not get their Osborne Bill or insurance against unemployment. Speaking on his own behalf iio said "tnnt if every one of these reforms had to be postponed indefinitely he should still fight and voto against this criminal foily.
