At the quarterly meeting the question of federating with the New Zealand Federation of Labour was the principal topic of discussion. The chairman explained that the committee had been doing their utmost to prevail on the Thames branch to fall in with the Karangahake "branch and affiliate with the Federation, but up to the present had made no appreciable headway. After several speakers had expressed themselves in favour of the step, which met with approval, the following resolution, was- passed and carried unanimously—"That a ballot of all members of the Union be taken on the question of joining the New Zealand Federation of Labour."
