CO-OPERATION
To tho Editor. Sir,—Kindly allow mo through the. medium ot : your paper to express the belief that the time is ripe- lor the opening of a, General Co-O-pcrative Store conducted on sound business lines. Co-operation, as we all know, is a, medium for saving money and a united band at any time will always beat individual enterprise. Take the very large businesses that are in Wellington, and some of them with several branches—how have they been built up? Simply with tho profits derived from the purchasers or consumers, and why should not the consumers who in nearly every instance have to work very hard for their money, put the" profits which may accrue from the said business into their own pockets. Take the milk industry—it is all run on Co-operative, lines, and look at the profits they make. TL-a British Co-opera-tive stores ar*> amongst, the- largest distributing power in the world. I seeno reason why a store of this nature, to embrace all tho necessaries of life, should not bo opened at an early date. —Yours etc., A WORKER.
