Dear "Worker," —Were- they peers of the realm who in days gone by designed and built those beautiful temples, palaces and cathedrals throughout Europe;' And Socrates was a carver; Spinoza, a lens grinder; Rousseau, a music copier; Ben Johnson, a bricklayer; Robert Burns, a ploughman; Millett the artist, a shepherd. In the ranks of the toilers to-day there is many a mute Milton, many Avho, given the necessary opportunity and sympathetic environment, would rise to pre-eminence in literature,, science and art.
