VISITORS.

Mr. J. Wright, of Broken Hill, a member of the Managing Committee of "The Barrier Truth," has been visiting New Zealand for the benefit of his health. " 'The Barrier Truth' is now a Labour daily, and is owned." said Mr. Wright., " solely by the Unions, and has its own freehold premises, with plant, amounting in all to £11,500. It is now showing an aggregate profit of £500 a year." Mr. Wright has just visited Tasmania, where he reports the condition of the workers is deplorable, many men getting only ss. per day. Mr. Crawford, editor of a Socialistic newspaper issued in Johannesburg, was another of this month's callers. Mr. Crawford has a clear and logical conception of Socialism, and an effecttive mode of expressing his ideas. He is, needless to relate, among the advance guard of Labour's sympathisers.

Mr. Peter Bowling has continued his tour of. New Zealand during the last few weeks, and had good meetings in various jrarts of the North and South Islands. At a public meeting held in Westport, and presided over by Mr. J. Colvin, M.P., the following resolution was passed unanimously:—"That we, the citizens of Westport, tender a hearty welcome to Mr. Peter Bowling, President of the N.S.M.F., who has been a victim of the vindictive tyranny of the capitalistic class of New South Wales, backed by the coercive policy of a reactionary Government ; and we hope that his visit to Westport will be a source of pleasure to him, and of real benefit to us, in that it has given us an opportunity of welcoming to this dominion one who has suffered so acutely in the fight for economic freedom, the solidarity of Labour, the object of which is the final emancipation of the working class."
