FOUR CLEVER DOGS
A remarkable demonstration was given by an Ayshire farmer and his four famous sheep dogs not long ago. The farmer used the dogs as living gateposts, driving (with the help of one of the animals) a flock of wild mountain sheep through the “gateposts,'’’ each dog taking its turn at being a post after it had done its work of driving. So air-minded are the inhabitants of Islay in the Inner Hebrides becoming that several shepherds flew with their dogs from the island to Campbellton, where the trials were held.
