TEVIOT ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the above board was neid on Wednesday, 9tn isovember. Those present were: Messrs J. H. Waigth (cnairj, d. George, A. McEwau and Hr Gilmour. Apologies of absence were received rrom Messrs R. T. Kiuaston and J. Riach. Accounts amounting to £1625 3s Id were passed for payment, included in this amount was £llO9 5s 8d debenture interest ana £To6 6s Id Sinking Fund instalment. Total receipts for month £422 5s 4d comprised of power £3lO los lOd, wiring and showroom £B9 17s 4d, cash sales £lB 5s Id, sundries £3 9s Id. Correspondence A letter was received from W. A. Bodkin, Esq., M.P., advising of his co-operation in the matter of raising the dam at Lake Onslow to increase the water storage. The Otago Provincial Centennial Council acknowledged with thanks and appreciation tue Board’s promise to contribute £25 as their share of the expenditure in connection with Otago’s exhibit at the Centennial Exhibition. Messrs Miller and White, architects, Dunedin, forwarded plans and specifications for . the erection of a verandah for the Power Board and Plunket Society. Foreman’s Report The foreman reported that during the month one man had been, employed for three days testing power poles and erecting poles at H. Turners, Ettrick. One casual had also been employed for three days assisting in changing the Borough street lighting from series to relay. The installation* carried out had consisted of fiv* heating points, two lights and ons 4 h.p. motor. Sixty-four repair jobs for consumers were also effected. The foreman stated that the plant was running well and the highest load registered for the month was 440 k.w.
