administration of scheme. HELP OP DOCTORS TO BE SOUGHT. Every precaution is being made by the Government for the operation of the social security scheme on April 1 next. The Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Savage) said yesterday that the heads bf the department were getting the machinery ready, and were to report to the Government. “It is a big thing, and it involves much preliminary work,” he said. “It means arranging for buildings and administrative offices all over the country, and the appointment of the three commissioners to act under the supervision of the Minister in charge will have to be considered pretty early. ’ ’ Mr Savage said that the Minister who would be in charge of the scheme had not yet been singled out. Commenting on the health scheme, Mr Savage said that the Government would have to get the medical profession ready for the administration of the law. “That will mean consultation with the doctors,” he said. “We are asking them to help us to shape the administration of the regulations.”
