PRACTICAL SUPPORT
COUNTY AND CENTENNIAL The Tuapeka County Council on Friday voted unanimously the sum requested 'by the Otago Provincial Centennial Council after representatives, Messrs J. S. Ross and R. T. Hay (secretary) had waited upon the Council and explained the plaiis for the province. The sum was £223, allocated upon a population and not a valuation basis it was explained. Several members spoke in favour of the payment and the decision was made without argument. It was pointed out that the population basis saved the Council possibly £SO compared with the valuation basis.
