MONTHLY MEETING The .monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board, which was concluded on Friday was attended by Messrs F. H. Waters (chairman), C. J. Inder, D. J. Ross, J. .S Adams and G. W. Stuart. The Lawrence Golf Club New Links Committee applied for the lease of portion of section 181, Block XIX, Tuapeka East S.D. comprising 35a lr 37p.—Application was declined in the public interest.

Disposal of an area between sections 7 and 76, block X, Tuapeka East S.D., area 3a lr 28p.— Year to year right to occupy an area of approximately half an acre adjoining section 7, block X, Tuapeka East S.D., granted to P. Cranley at an annual rental of 10s and year to year right to occupy an area of approximately 3 acres adjoining section 76, block X, Tuapeka East S.D., granted to L. Pearsall at an annual rental of 3.05. ~/ Registration of Assignment Run 641, Teviot and Long Valley—s49o acres; section 10s, Teviot Settlement—6o7a 2r 25p Robert Arnott to Robert Walls.— Registration approved. ly appointed a sanitary inspector to the county. A formal permit was given the Dunedin City Council’s motor bus department to traverse the county with buses on speeial trips. In connection with insurance rates the clerk was instructed to prepare a schedule for the next meeting, after Cr Thompson had instanced savings to be effected by the calling of tenders. The question of ranging the roads was raised by Cr McLennan. Members agreed it was a very bad problem. The clerk stated that the Main Highways Board three or four meetings previously, had promised to attend to it, but the board had not done so.

Cr George said the inspectors had been “remarkably quiet.” The members concerned and the engineer were appointed to deal with the calling of renders for gravelling roads as mentioned in. the engineer’s report.
