BEAUMONT RACING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Beaumont Racing Club was held in the Coronation Hall last week, Mr Jas. Sim (president) occupying the chair. There was a good attendance of members. Before commencing the business Mr Sim referred to the loss the club had sustained by the death of eight members, all of whom had been staunch supporters of momebers to stand in silence for a members to stand in silence for a few moments. The annual report and balance sheet were before members in printed form and showed a credit 1 balance on the race meeting of £552 19s 3d. In moving the adoption of the balance sheet Mr Sim said it was most gratifying to see such a substantial profit. He thanked the members for their loyal support, especially the members of the committee, and without their co-operation it would be unable to carry on. He pointed out that although the stakes amounted to £9OO the club paid £928 in taxation. The motion was seconded by Mr D. Jones and carried. The following new members were elected: Messrs D. Cummings, W. Bain, K. R. Orchiston, G. M. Love. H. M‘lntyre, W, Richards, G. Martin and S. Hogg. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr Jas. Sim; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Smith and J. F. Tamblyn; committee, Messrs A. Robinson, C. Edgar, A. Geeves, G. Towns, T. Phillips, C. Smaill, D. Jones, J. F. Harris, C. C. Irvine, H. Patterson, R.
