Anzac Day

Messrs. J. W. Greaves and R. J. 11. Combes were in attendance when the executive of the Pahiatua branch of the R.S.A. heard the report of the special committee set up to frame a programme for the observation of Anzac Day on April 25 next. Mr. Combes, on behalf of the Ministers’ Association, assured them of the heartiest cooperation. Mr. Gi'eaves outlined procedure over the years. He would suggest that they go back to the lines followed some few years ago and hold the service in the theatre. Dr. Paterson reported on the deliberations of the special committee and read the suggested programme, which was adopted. The R.S.A. are to control the proceedings, but the Borough Council will bear Iho expense.
