Vesuvius Eruption Worst for Years

Received Tuesday, 8.50 p.m. LONDON, March 21. A number of townspeople are being evacuated from the slopes of Vesuvius following the worst eruption for years, says the British United Press’s Naples correspondent. The eruption continues and the flow of lava has increased. An Amgot official, Lieutenant-Colonel Kincade, is directing the evacuation. A later message states that two villages have been engulfed by the flow of lava which is 30 feet high.
