iMrs. MV. G. Booth presided over a good attendance at the March meeting of the Feilding branch of the W.D.F.U. Delegates were reminded of the Wellington Central Provincial meeting at Massey College, and further hand-knitted garments for the forces were handed in. Members are reminded of the annual meeting on March 31, details to appear later. Further heavy rains were experienced over the Feilding district on Saturday and during the early afternoon there was a thunderstorm with very heavy rain. Towards evening temperatures fell and yesterday the weather was decidedly colder. Pastures have received sufficient rain now to ensure recovery to provide for a good autumn growth provided really cold conditions do not set in early. Prior to his departure for Oamaru Mr. F. S. Collier, clerk of the Court at Feilding, was met by members of the Law Society and made a presentation of a line china breakfast set as a token of esteem and goodwill. Mr. J. Graham, in making the presentation, complimented Mr. Collier on his promotion and referred to the courteous treatment members of the profession had always received from him. In expressing his thanks for the gift, Mr. Collier said that he regretted leaving Feilding where he had made so many friends and his associations with members of the profession had always been of the happiest.
