Last year Feilding had to find £4IOO and actually raised £4316, w hich was very commendable. Air. Allen considered that the task was well within Feilding’s ability and he moved that the raising of the sum be by direct appeal. This was agreed to. Air. Allen stated that there was no doubt, that the R.S.A. would be prepared to assist in any way to raise the sum. On the motion of Mr. Smith it was decided to thank the Feilding K.S.A. for its great support in past appeals and to ask for its assistance in the present appeal. Details of the appeal are to bo left to the executive committee. Reporting on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Committee, Mrs. AicCorkindale stated that at a recent meeting it had been decided to recommend that a Combined {Services Ball be held in May for patriotic purposes. The committee had in mind co-opting the assistance ct the young people who had assisted with the Leap Year dance. It was also suggested that a gala day or Paddy’s market bo held in the Drill Hall to help the appeal. Last year the women’s committee organised Army, Navy and Air Force weeks which proved very successful. This year it was proposed that instead of weeks they be Army, Navy and Air Force months and bigger results were anticipated. The wives and relations of those serving with the forces were most anxious to help and Airs. McCorkindale felt that with the schemes in view the money required could be raised. Recently the women had taken over the sale yard tea room and already had handed in a profit of £ls with more to come. The women's committee had unanimously decided to co-opt the services of tho young people and all had been most appreciative of their work. The Mayor supported the remarks regarding the help from tho young people aud agreed that their active cooperation in all patriotic activities should be encouraged. Airs.
