Meat Rationing in Restaurants A meeting of more than 60 proprietors of city restaurants, diningrooms and kindred establishments m Auckland decided to make representations to the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, and the Food Controller, Mr. Thomas, urging that meat rationing to their establishments bo altered i roni the present system of coupons to a quota of two-thirds of the average purchases made by them over the past 12 months, the proprietors being left to adopt their own rationing system based on the quota allowed. It was stated in a resolution that at present the returns for meals had fallen in some restaurants to as low as 3 per cent, of the value of those sold before rationing.
