A call for clean rags for use of the I Services is expected to result in a sub stantial response from the people o< Feilding and district on March 21 under the auspices of the Girl Guides organisation. Under the auspices of the Eanghvaliit patriotic organisation a gala and sport: day will be held on Saturday next, tin proceeds of which will be devoted t( the 194.4: patriotic appeal which has re ccutly been launched. An attractive programme provider events for every one and to complete the day's enter tainment, a dance will follow in tin evening. During the social proceedings toward the men home on furlough at the Od< Fellows' Hall, Feilding, on Tucsda; night, it was learned that the Mayoress Mrs. R. E. .Seddon, was that day celc l>rating her birthday. At the call o Mr. C. H. Tate the gathering stood an< accorded Mrs. Seddon musical honour as well as singing “Happy Birthda; To-day.''
