Mass Massacre of “Unwanteds” in Lwow
Received Monday, 6.30 p.m. LONDON, March 13. Tho Red Army’s approach to Lwow caused the Germans to accelerate the evacuation and begin wholesale massacres of 4 * unwanted ’ ’ people, stated the Polish Ministry of Information in London. Clouds of smoke have covered Lwow in the last few weeks and the suffocating smell of burning is blowing in from the eastern outskirts of the city. Heavy lorries are leaving the city day after day with people, tar and petrol As many as 90 lorries were observed departing on the worst days. The Ger mans without investigation have al ready massacred more than 10,000 of various nationalities. The Germans are preparing to evacuate all their officers from Eastern Poland. Their industries have ceased work and they are packing up machinery, raw materials and stores for dispatch to Germany. Russian planes, five of which have not returned, a few days ago heavily bombed concentrations, German military trains and the railway junction at Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, also enemy ships in the harbour, says the Moscow radio.
