A.N.A. Club Activities
St. David’s Guild was on duty at the A.N.A. canteen during the week-end, the convener being Mrs. F. Lucas. The club room looked gay with bowls of asters and hydrangeas, and the tables were decorated with begonias, the work of Mrs. H. Scott and Miss D’Ath. Teas served numbered 14G, and suppers 25. The Girls Music Club supplied the music, and the hostesses were Mesdames E. W. Pearce, A. Berryman and E. V. Lovell. The dances were well attended by members of the Forces and a bright time was enjoyed. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss E. McLennan and Sergeant Simpson on Saturday, and on Sunday by W.A.I D. L. Taylor and A.C.2 R. Wheeler. The hostesses, Mesdames K. C. Clayton, R. E. Gaisford, J. H. Whyte and Miss E. Bosworth were assisted by Messrs. K. C. Clayton, S. Rawcliffe, C. Handley and G. Smith. Miss V. Royal conducted the games, and the drinks were served on Saturday by Miss E. Mosley and on Sunday by Misses K. Thompson and R. Whyte. A donation of food was received from Messrs. Collinson and Cunninghame, Ltd. Duty in the lounge was taken by Mesdames G. A. Eliott, Arnold and Miss E. Redwood.
