Sandon
(From Our Own Con*espondent.) The Sandon Patriotic Purposes Committee recently held a dance to welcome home three soldiers of the district, Privates E. R. Caple, K. M. Marsh and J. Sanson. The function was well attended by residents of the district and a pleasant evening was provided. Mr. ii. V 7. Bond, on behalf of the committee, said that it was a privilege and pleasure to welcome them home aud that all were pleased to see them back in their midst. Mr. Bond mentioned the period each had beon away and the campaigns they had taken part in. A welcome was also extended by Mr. Bond to Private R. M. F. Orr (on furlough) and K. C. Bailey and L.A.C. H. Murphy. Bouquets were presented to the next of kin of the three men by small school girls. Appreciative reference was made by the men of the parcels they had received from the Sandon Women’s Institute and tho Patriotic Committee. The men said that they were always looked forward to and much appreciated.
