More Raids on Marshall Islands

Received Friday 10.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, March 10. Enemy planes raided our positions on Eniwetok atoll causing small damage, says a Pacific Fleet communique. Liberators, Mitchells, Dauntlesses, Warhawks, Navy search Venturas and Hellcat fighters dropped 37 tons of bombs on five enemy-held positions in the Marshalls. Barracks and runways were hit, fires started and a coastal vessel bombed. Five wooden barges were strafed. Several of our planes were damaged by flak and one crashed in the target area. A Navy search plane shot down a Japanese naval medium bomber between Eniwetok and Truk.
