America’s Gigantic Air Force

Received Friday 10.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, March 10. On the occasion of the escond anniversary of the establishment of the Air Force as one of the three major army components, the United States War Department announced that the American Air Force strength had quadrupled. It now has 2,385,000 men which is more than the entire American Expeditionary Force of the last war. Despite the use in modern warfare ol the most destructive weapons in history only 3.7 per cent of American woundea die compared with 6.1 per cent in the last war, says the War Department.
