St. Davids Church Ladies’ Guild

The first meeting of the year of St. David’s Ladies* Guild was held In the Bible class rooms at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday. The president (Mrs. F. Lucas) in welcoming members back after the holiday recess especially congratulated an old and highly esteemed member, Mrs. J. Ross, on the occasion of her golden wedding and wished her and Mr. Ross very many more years of happiness. After the correspondence was read, also a report of the soldiers’ parcel work by Mrs. S. E. Ladyman, a pleasant and enjoyable programme was given which included songs by Mrs. C. J. Jamieson and pianoforte solos by Mrs. W. H. Loch, and a competition which was enjoyed. After afternoon tea a talk was given by Mr. L. Hunt, of the Welfare Department, on his work in this city, which was of a wide and varied nature, and proved very interesting and instructive to all present. Mrs. G. Glendinning, in a few well chosen words, thanked the artists, speaker and the tea hostesses for a very pleasant afternoon, after which Rev. R. Warnock closed the meeting with the Benediction.
