Change in Prices for Heavyweight Wethers

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 8. The Minister of Marketing (Hon. B. Roberts) announced to-night that after consultation with the Aleat roducer*’ Board it had been decided to allow a. tolerance to producers on weights for heivy weight wethers, the alteration taking effect from killings on and after to-morrow (March 9). The Export Alarketing Division’s f.o.b. purchase prices for prime wethers will now be as follows: 48lb. and under, sfd; 49/56, 42d; 57/G4, 4£d; 05/72, 4id; 73/80 paid for as for wethers weighing 721 b., that is the same carcase price as a 721 b. animal irrespective of weight; 81/90, 2Jd. The improvement in the payout by the Marketing Department for the 73/801b. wether will automatically be reflected in the schedule prices payable to producers for this grade.
