National War Savings
The activities for National War .Savings provided interesting figures for last week in the Palmerston North postal area. Fifteen towns again obtained their weekly target, comprising the city of Palmerston North, Apiti, .Bulls, Danncvirke, Feilding, Glen Oroua, Kiuibolton, Levin, Pahiatua, Pongaroa, llongotea, Shannon, Toko* maru, Weber and Woodville. Of these, Feilding and Glen Oroua returned the “ quota’ i list, the. former sending along £440, and heading the list; for the country towns. Apiti £230, Levin £335, and Daunevirke £357 were the others to get three-figure totals. An interesting phase was the fact that three more towns secured their annual quota. Requiring £176, Apiti sent along £230; Kimbolton wanted £4O, and its tally was £43; while Weber only wanted £1 and sent along £5 Bs. This makes six towns in this area to achieve this meritorious result. The figures for National War Savings for the city yesterday jNere £loli 7s.
