Censorship Breach Alleged
In the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court yesterday Robert Hewitt Billens, editor and publisher, of the “Times,” Palmerston North, was charged with a breach of the Censorship and Public Emergency liegulations in that lie published in the “Times” a statement that the Censor had refused authority for the printing and publication of certain matter. Senior-Sergeant A. B. Meiklejolm, on behalf of the Crown Law Office, asked for an adjournment for a week on account of u bereavement suffered by one of the witnesses. It was stated that there was a possibility of a further remand being asked for. The statement \?hich is the subject of the charge wag contained in a leading article entitled “The Gag Again,” published in the “Times” of December 6.
