New Zealand Soldier Faces Murder Charge
AUCKLAND, March 4. Arrested at 2.45 a.m, this morning, a New Zealand soldier, Thomas Bex Beagle, aged 19, later appeared before three justices in the Police Court on a charge that on March 3 at Papakura, he murdered Whittier .H Thompson. It is stated Thompson was a member of the U.S. forces. On the application of the police accused was remanded until March 10. On the application of accused’s counsel, Mr. Wallace, an order was made that accused be kept apart from other prisoners.
