Mrs A. D. Bark with, lias been re-elect-ed president, Mrs, Thompson secretary, and Mrs. Arlidge treasurer of the Takaro Ladies’ Guild of All Saints' Church. Miss Muriel Wilson, of Feuthorstone Street, for many years a valued member of the Regent Theatre staff, has been entertained at a round of gift parties in view of her marriage to Sgt. Jack Findlay on furlough from tho Middle East, which takes place to-day. Among her hostesses have been Mrs Parker, of Tiakitahuna, Mrs. Follas, Mesdames Tyack and E. Hughes, Mrs ICerslake and Miss A. Kcrslake, Mrs R. Mullins, Mrs and Miss Murphy, Misses C. Boddy, N. Ernstroin and M. Watts. Thanking Miss Lorna Hodder for her talk to the Citizens’ Lunch Club yesterday, the president, Mr. G. C. Petersen, said that the people of Palmerston North were proud of the excellent record of Miss Hodder, one of their best citizens, in Christian and social service work. They wore sure that, with her abundance of tact and consideration, the child welfare work in her district was in good hands. Members expressed their appreciation by acclamation. Visitors welcomed were Mesdames Wintou, Lovelock and Coss, and Mr. J. Purnell was also welcomed as a new member.
