Serious Fire at Whangarei
WHANGAREI, March 3. At the height of a violent thunderstorm early this morning fire gutted a large building occupied by Messrs. Smith and .Smith, Ltd. Thousands of pounds’ worth of almost irreplaceable oil colours, glass and ironmongery became a total loss. Their value far exceeded the insurances. It was against this building that an Air Force plane crashed during the Liberty Loan appeal last year, two airmen being killed.
