WENDELL WILLKIE’S PROMISE (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) Received Friday, 9.20 p.m. CAIRO, Sept. 4. Mr. Wendell L. Willkie, «n s special message to New Zealand, said: "While the threat of a Japanese attack on New Zealand ia remote tho threat to Australia is not yet over. New Guinea is the dangerpoint,” he said, "but that will soon disappear when the weight of the American forces of all arms of the war continues to increase. "I am not a professional strategist but I think that with the growing weight of American aid in all theatres of war, and especially In the Pacific, New Zealand can be reassured. Ameri. ca is doing everything to win the war and America will always help New Zealand.” • Mr. Willkie said he was going to Moscow with a special message from President Roosevelt for M. Stalin, thence to China to see Marshal Chiang Kai*ahek.
