Obituary
MRS J. H. FORD OF WANGANUI. Well known in the Wanganui District for her kindness and help to those in need Airs Jessie Ford, wife of Air John H. Ford, and sister of Mr Alfred Eade of Feilding, passed away recently at Hawera at the age of 79 years. Tho late Mrs Ford was born in London and before coming out to New assisted her mother the late Airs Eliza Eade in missionary work in the slum area of St. Georges Yard, London. Her late mother on arrival in New Zealand continued to do nursing work assisted by the late Airs Ford, and was one of the first district nurses appointed in the Dominion. She married Air Ford in Sydney and on returning from Australia resided for a number of years in Palmerston North, later removing to Wanganui where she conducted a convalescent home. She is survived by her husband who is at present the guest of Afr A. Eade in Feilding and a family comprising Airs J. Barney and Air J. G. Ford (Tauranga), Air E. A. Ford (Ross, California, U.S.A.), Mrs H. Finlay (Hawera) and Airs W. Alillard (Raurimu). There arc 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Five grandson's are serving in the Army and Navy.
